Roll resurfacings required before GSTR's need to be resurfaced: Energy Savings GSTR's are a superior capacitor. This allows the same treatment levels to be achieved using up to 40% less power. 
Quality Savings Damaged and inferior roll coatings can cause backside treatment and/or unacceptable treatment levels - most often just prior to a roll failure. GSTR's produce uniform, consistent treatment and can reduce or eliminate backside treatment. Also, since a corona forms sooner with GSTR's you are in start-up for less time which results in less wasted film. Unscheduled downtime When an operator accidentally cuts a roll, or a pinhole occurs because the roll coating fails prematurely you experience costly unscheduled downtime. The GSTR cannot be cut, and because the coating is inorganic it does not degrade. This means many fewer roll failures. 
Scheduled Downtime Savings Since GSTR's last 5-10 times as long as other dielectric coatings there is less scheduled downtime required to change out rolls. 
Maintenance/Cleaning Savings Because of its non-porous, hard and non-sticky surface, less residue builds up on a GSTR than other roll coatings. This means less cleaning and fewer cleaning supplies.
